Chamber Announces Young
Professionals Network
The Mt. Pleasant
Area Chamber of Commerce launched a new program in 2009 called the
Young Professionals Network (YPN). The YPN encourages young
professionals who are members to the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of
Commerce to grow personally and professionally and to become more
involved in the Mt. Pleasant business community. Group lunches,
Business After Hours, Business Over Breakfast and special events
encourage young professionals to network, continue personal growth and
professional development and give back to the community that they live
and work in.
Who should get
involved? Individuals between 20 and 40
years of age are encouraged to attend the Young Professionals Network
events. Employers are also encouraged to support their young
professional through learning about the program and possibly assisting
with the membership investment. YPN is now on

When will the
Young Professionals Network meet? The
Chamber plans to have quarterly luncheons, with the kick-off being
scheduled in May. The luncheons will be a great way to network with
other young professionals and also learn about up and coming topics
that will be of interest to social and professional networking
opportunities.
Are there any
costs to attend? The yearly fee to be a
member of the Young Professionals network will likely be $30, which
includes: program materials provided by the Chamber, monthly
newsletter sent out to the group and any other networking event that
is in addition to the quarterly luncheons. The cost to attend the
quarterly luncheon is $20 per person.
The Chamber
encourages members to join the “YPN” including entrepreneurs, artists,
small business owners and newly employed young professionals who want
to expand their professional network and become involved in a forum
that focuses on issues facing this segment of the business community.
